Im starting school soon in Southern California, and I want to know what to wear to have a good 1st impression?

Im a 15 year old guy going into 10th grade.
I just want some good Ideas.
Should I wear long kacky shorts with a dark vans shirt and vans( they are about half as tall as high tops)
Or should I put on the same thing except the shorts, and go with skinny jeans.(Their not like skater tight, but they are tight)
Im from Albuquerque NM and now I live in Oceanside which is much cooler. Will it still be too hot?
Im not too sensitive to heat.
I just dont want to look like a nerd.
