Vintage Elephant Figurine Collectibles

During the 1930′s many rich socialites went on safari in Africa and fell in love with elephants. They returned to fashionable New York and told their jewelry designers to make them pins, brooches, and hair-clips – all incorporating elephant designs. Those jewelry pieces are very collectible items today.

After they decorated themselves, those same rich socialites turned to their apartments and want to create the same exotic atmosphere that they fell in love with in Europe. So they started to collect art pieces that created this mood. Vintage elephant figurines were very popular and are collectible items today.

A vintage figurine depicting an elephant is often done in wood to give it a primitive feel. When you add wood to your home decor it gives it a more natural feel – in some ways less formal.

But you’ll also find Disney vintage elephant figurines because of the Disney movie Dumbo. These are obvious cuter and more sentimental than the African inspired elephant artwork of yesteryear.

If you love circus memorabilia then you’ll want to include some vintage circus elephants with your figurine collectibles. These are the most decorated and brightly colored of the elephant figurines that I’ve found to collect. They would look beautiful beside any carousel horses that you might collect

Elvis Figurine Collectibles – Popular Gift Ideas

When you’re thinking about popular gift ideas, don’t forget that a figurine is a fantastic gift idea for a friend. Whatever your friend has as an interest or hobby is probably available in a figurine. If your friend just loves Elvis, then I know that there are hundreds of Elvis figurines available in a wide price range.

Elvis fans remember every one of his on stage performances and what he wore to them as well. So there’s an Elvis figurine for each performance. These figurines are richly detailed with the rhinestone designs, collars and belts, as well as boots and shoes that Elvis was known for as well as his hair.

You’ll also find an Elvis figurine for each of his songs. Some of the most popular songs immortalized in a figurine are Hound Dog and Blue Suede Shoes. In addition to Elvis there are figurines of his beloved covertible car, Graceland, and guitar.

Even Mickey Mouse is an Elvis fan and you’ll find Mickey Mouse Elvis figurines. If you’re a Goth who just happens to love Elvis you’ll also find an Elvis skeleton figurine, complete with Elivs hair.

In only makes sense that some of the Elvis figurines also are musical and you can hear Elvis singing a song.
